My Story

Welcome.

I am Christina Stefani, a contemporary abstract artist based in Oregon. My work explores the emotional and spiritual dimensions of human connection, where earth, atmosphere, and the unseen intersect.

My path to painting was not linear. For more than two decades, I worked as a creative director, designer, and visual strategist, building a career rooted in image-making, branding, and photography through Stefani Photography. While that work shaped my visual language, there was always a deeper pull toward painting, something quieter, more instinctive, and ultimately more essential.

When I first began sharing my paintings publicly, the response was not what I expected. The work was met with criticism and dismissal, and for a time, I stepped away from painting entirely. That absence lasted for years.

What brought me back was not ambition, but clarity.

During a profoundly transformative period in my life, I became a caregiver for my husband as his health declined. In those years, time took on a different meaning. What mattered became unmistakably clear: presence, love, and the fleeting nature of life itself.

Before he passed, he encouraged me to return to painting and to create work that reflected beauty, light, and the deeper essence of being alive.

That moment became a turning point.

I returned to painting with a renewed sense of purpose, and soon after, founded Stefani Art Gallery. My work shifted. It became more luminous, more atmospheric, and more attuned to the emotional undercurrents that connect us.

Each painting is built through layers of color, movement, and energy, allowing depth and light to emerge over time. The process is both deliberate and intuitive, a balance between control and surrender.

Today, my work is an exploration of what cannot be easily articulated: the quiet forces that shape our lives, the spaces between moments, and the enduring presence of love.

If something in this work resonates with you, then it has already done what it was meant to do.
